Turi and Elzey Pace Fort Wayne During Opening Day in Memphis

CORDOVA, Tenn. - Through the first day of the Memphis Intercollegiate, the Fort Wayne men's golf team sits in 10th place with a 36-hole score of 307-295-602.
Hosted by Memphis at the par-72 Colonial Country Club, the course is being played at 7,235 yards. Little Rock and Middle Tennessee State are tied through day one with team scores of 577. Hunter Richardson of UT Martin leads the field with a 6-under-par 138.
Fort Wayne sits six shots back of Belmont in ninth place.
Zac Turi and Callahan Elzey paced the 'Dons on the day, trying for 24th with scores of 4-over-par 148. Turi's day included six birdies and an eagle to finish with rounds of 76 and 72. Elzey also carded rounds of 76 and 72 to go along with two birdies.
Eric Brinker finished the day with identical rounds of 76-76-152 to tie for 46th. Entering the final day tied for 53rd is Zach Schroeder with scores of 79-75-154. Rounding out the team scoring was Josh Keating, tying for 68th, and shooting rounds of 81-80-161.
Playing as an individual, Cody White carded scores of 79-81-160 to sit in a tie for 66th place.
The final round of the Memphis Intercollegiate will begin at 9:15 a.m. ET off the Nos. 1 and 10 tees tomorrow, September 19.
