
Women's Golf Ties 54-Hole Record at Cardinal Classic

YORKTOWN, Ind. - The Fort Wayne women's golf team tied the program's 54-hole score record at the Cardinal Classic with a 943, to finish in 17th place. The team matched the mark set last season at its Fort Wayne Spring Classic in April.
Hosted by Ball State at the par-72, 6,204-yard The Players Club, Indianapolis won the tournament with a 1-under-par 863. Jacinta Pikunas from Akron captured individual medalist honors, shooting a 6-under-par 210.
Fort Wayne carded a final-round team score of 310, which is sixth lowest in program history.
Madison Chesnutt and Monica Dorner tied for the team lead with scores of 234 to finish tied for 63rd. The duos 234 is tied for fifth lowest all-time in program history. Chesnutt carded three birdies on the round to shoot a 78 while Dorner carded an 80.
Jenna Kurosky shot a final-round 77 to finish the week tied for 76th with a two-day score of 238. Linnzie Richner recorded three birdies in the round, shooting a 78 on the day, and finishing tied for 84th with a 240. Rounding out the scoring for the 'Dons was Abigail Carlsen tying for 88th with a 242 on the week and a final-round 77.
Fort Wayne continues its fall season when it travels to the Butler Fall Invitational October 2-3.
