Barton Tops For Fort Wayne Men’s Cross Country In Minnesota

MINNEAPOLIS – Sophomore Alex Barton led the Fort Wayne men's cross country squad at the Roy Griak Invitational on Saturday (Sept. 23) hosted by the University of Minnesota.
Barton ran a time of 27:52 in the 8K event to take 70th. Bret Unger was 78th at 28:26. Sam Williamson (28:51) and Gabe O'Keefe (28:54) were 82nd and 83rd, respectively. Kurt Unger (29:27), Sammy Moran (29:44) and Robert Peck (30:01) rounded out Fort Wayne's squad.
The Mastodons finished in 14th with a score of 403.
Colorado State won the team title.
Fort Wayne returns to action on Saturday (Sept. 23) at the Greater Louisville Classic.
