Rightnowar Earns Fourth Consecutive Double Double in Loss

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The Fort Wayne women's volleyball team dropped its Summit League home opener to South Dakota 3-0 (25-19, 25-22, 25-19).
Nicole Rightnowar earned her fourth consecutive and 12th double-double of the season with a match-high 13 kills and a team-high 13 digs. Sydney Boerst added eight kills while Natalie Seiler had seven. Madison Jaqua led the Mastodons with a match-high 33 assists.
South Dakota went out in front 5-2 in the first set, and the 'Dons were unable to overcome the early deficit. The Mastodons held a late lead in the second, 21-20, but the Coyotes closed out the frame on a 5-1 advantage. USD again led early in the final set, but Fort Wayne fought back to close within one, 14-13. The Yotes responded with a 3-1 run to extend their lead for good.
The 'Dons are now 8-10 on the season and 0-3 in Summit League play.
The Mastodons close out the weekend when they host Omaha on Sunday, October 1 at 1 p.m.
