FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Fort Wayne women's soccer team hits the road this week to visit the Eastern Illinois Panthers on Friday at 4 p.m. in Charleston, Ill.

SCOUTING THE MASTODONS (0-5-0, 0-0-0 Summit League)
The Mastodons are coming off a pair of 1-0 losses from last weekend, at Youngstown State and against Western Michigan at home. Kendall Quinn currently holds the only goal for the Fort Wayne, while Breanna Buche has the assist. That goal came in a 2-1 loss to Evansville.
SCOUTING THE PANTHERS (3-2-1, 0-0-0 Ohio Valley Conference)
The Panthers are entering the weekend 3-2-1, with wins coming over IUPUI, Green Bay and Chicago State. Eastern Illinois tied Indiana State 1-1, and are coming off their most recent 5-1 victory over Chicago State. Pilar Barrio leads the team with two goals and one assist to total five points.
WHEN WE LAST MET
The Mastodons and Panthers met last season for only the second time in the series history. Fort Wayne took a 2-0 win, with goals from Malissa Hofmeister and Chloee Foor. Foor also assisted on the goal from Hofmeister, and went on to earn a Summit League Offensive Player of the Week honor.
FIRST HALF FIGHTERS
The Mastodons have held its last four opponents scoreless in the first half of each contest. Detroit Mercy, Evansville, Youngstown State and Western Michigan were all unable to score on the 'Dons in the first 45 minutes of play.
FRESH LEGS
Two freshmen, Jessica Schoenfeldt and Gabrielle Fanning, have started in all five contests for the Mastodons. Kailyn Wade came off the bench to play in the first three matches, and earned the start in her last two outings.
LOOKING BACK
The Mastodons are coming off a 1-0 loss to Western Michigan, which scored the only goal in the 74th minute of the match.
UP NEXT
Fort Wayne will return home for a contest against the Valparaiso Crusaders at 1 p.m. on Sunday at Hefner Soccer Complex.
