Mastodons Fall to Pioneers 3-1

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Purdue Fort Wayne women's soccer team fell to Denver 3-1 on Thursday (Oct. 11) at the Hefner Soccer Complex.
Denver took a 1-0 lead into halftime after a goal from Meg Halverson in the 18th minute. She took her corner kick and coasted it directly into the goal from the corner. The Pioneers extended their lead to 3-0 with goals from Halverson and Leah Swander.
Purdue Fort Wayne scored in minute 57 on Deanna Hecht's fourth goal of the year. She ripped in a shot from outside the 18 off a free kick from Kendall Quinn at the top of the box. Hecht had two shots on goal to lead the 'Dons.
The Mastodons fall to 3-9-3, 0-5-0 Summit League. Denver improves to 8-5-2, 4-1-0 Summit League. Purdue Fort Wayne welcomes Eastern Illinois for Senior Day on Saturday (Oct. 13) at 3 p.m.
