FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Former Mastodon Bryson Scott was selected in the 2018 G League Draft on Saturday (Oct. 20). Scott was drafted by Raptors 905, the Toronto Raptors' affiliate, as the 19th pick in the third round. The G League is the National Basketball Association's official developmental league.
Scott played the 2016-17 and 2017-18 seasons for the 'Dons. He scored 1,278 points in a Mastodon uniform, ranking eighth in program history. His career average of 19.4 points per game stands as the best ever for the program. In 2017-18 he was selected to the All-Summit League First Team after setting a new single-season program scoring record with 746 points. His 202 made free throws in 2017-18 finished as the second most in a season in program history.
Scott becomes the fifth Mastodon to be drafted into the G League, following Steve Forbes in 2015, Luis Jacobo and Deilvez Yearby in 2014 and Frank Gaines in 2013.
The 2018-19 Mastodons open the regular season Nov. 6 at UCLA after a home exhibition contest on Oct. 30 against DePauw.
