Purdue Fort Wayne Takes Down DePauw 90-64 In Exhibition Play

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Five Mastodons scored in double-digits on Tuesday (Oct. 30) evening at the Gates Sports Center in Purdue Fort Wayne's 90-64 exhibition victory over DePauw.
The 'Dons never trailed in the contest. Kason Harrell had 14 points. Dee Montgomery finished with 13 points thanks to six free throws. Matt Holba added 12 points. John Konchar had a double-double of 10 points and 13 rebounds with six assists. Dylan Carl finished with 10 points and six rebounds.
12 different 'Dons scored a point. The Mastodons had 17 assists on 31 made baskets.
The 'Dons closed the first half on an 11-2 run to take a 47-29 lead at the break. All 12 of Holba's points came in the first half. The second half saw Montgomery score 10 of his 13 points as the Tigers never threatened in the final 20 minutes.
Purdue Fort Wayne shot 47.0 percent (31-of-66) from the floor and limited DePauw to 33.3 percent shooting (22-of-66).
Purdue Fort Wayne opens the 2018-19 season next Tuesday (Nov. 6) at No. 21 UCLA.
