Men's Golf Jumps Two Spots on Final Day at Savannah Harbor

SAVANNAH, Ga. - The Fort Wayne men's golf team jumped two spots on the final day of The Invitational at Savannah Harbor, as the Mastodons carded a 294 to finish in ninth place with a 54-hole score of 887.

Hosted by William & Mary at the par-72, 7,287-yard The Club at Savannah Harbor, the host Tribe captured the team title with a two-day score of 10-under-par 854. Logan Sabins of Butler bested the individual field, finishing at 7-under-par 209.

Leading the way for the Mastodons in a tie for 11th place was Zach Schroeder, carding a 2-under-par 70 for the day and finish at 1-under-par 215 for the tournament. Eric Brinker shot a 1-over-par 73 for the final round to finish tied for 18th at 3-over-par 219. Finishing tied for 34th place was Callahan Elzey with a two-day score of 223. Zac Turi concluded the 54-hole tournament in a tie for 64th at 231. Josh Keating rounded out the team scoring for the 'Dons in 80th place with a 243.

Fort Wayne returns to action March 1-2 for the Gary Freeman Spring Invitational at the LPGA International in Daytona Beach, Florida.
