Women's Golf Begins Spring Season at Match Play Challenge

LAKEWOOD RANCH, Fla. - The Fort Wayne women's golf team kicks off its 2018 spring season on February 5 at the two-day Women's Mid-American Match Play Challenge. The Mastodons will be seeded 12th and face No. 5 seed Western Michigan in the first match. In the second round, Fort Wayne will face either Akron or the loser of the Bowling Green-Central Michigan match.

Feb. 6 - Tee times will be determines by first/second round results, beginning at 7:50 a.m.

Fort Wayne will compete against 11 other teams. The Mastodons and host Bowling Green will be joined by: Central Michigan, Akron, Dayton, Eastern Michigan, Florida Gulf State, Kent State, UNC Asheville, Western Michigan, Northern Illinois and Ohio

THE COURSE
The 18-hole Royal Lakes Course at Lakewood Ranch Golf & Country Club is a private golf course that opened in 2007. Royal Lakes was designed with all skill levels in mind to be forgiving, yet, it is quite challenging for the most skilled players measuring 7,320 yards from the Championship tees.
