WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - The Fort Wayne men's golf team carded a 304 during the opening round of the Kingsmill Intercollegiate, as the Mastodons sit in a tie for 14th place.

Hosted by the College of William & Mary at the par-70, 6,794-yard Kingsmill Resort - River Course, Utah Valley leads the 24-team field with a score of 7-over-par 287. Three players are tied atop the 127-player individual field with a 2-under-par 68 through 18 holes.

The 'Dons head into round two tied with Delaware and Fairleigh Dickinson, three shots back of 11th place, and five strokes out of the top-10.

Callahan Elzey and Cody White led the Mastodons during the opening round, shooting a 4-over-par 74, as the duo is tied for 21st. Zach Schroeder and Clark Tiller are tied for 77th, carding scores of 78 for the round. Tiller also led the 'Dons with four birdies on the day, tied for second most by anyone for the day. Eric Brinker carded a pair of birdies during his round to finish tied for 92nd place with a 79.

The second round of the Kingsmill Intercollegiate begins tomorrow, March 26, at 9:30 a.m.
