DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The Fort Wayne men's golf team leads the 14-team field after the first day of the Lonnie Barton Invitational, carding a team score of 4-under-par 284.

Hosted by LIU Brooklyn at the par-72, 6,984-yard LPGA International, the Mastodons hold a nine-shot lead over second place Bethune-Cookman.

The 284 by the 'Dons is tied for seventh lowest in program history.

Fort Wayne's Eric Brinker sits atop the 94-player individual field by two shots, carding a 3-under-par 69 on the day.

Clark Tiller and Callahan Elzey are tied for second, two shots back at 1-under-par 71. Zach Schroeder sits in a tied for seventh place on the day with a 1-over-par 73. Cody White rounded out the team scoring during the opening round with a 79 and is tied for 48th place.

Playing as an individual, Josh Keating is tied for seventh shooting a 1-over-par 73.

The final round of the Lonnie Barton Invitational will be a shotgun start tomorrow, March 6, at 9 a.m.
