COLUMBUS, Ohio - Fort Wayne men's golfer Zach Schroeder finished his first day at the NCAA Columbus Regional Tournament in a tie for 30th place with a score of 4-over-par 75.

Hosted by Ohio State at the par-71 OSU Golf Club - Scarlet Course, the tournament is being played at 7,364 yards. Oklahoma State leads the team standings with a 281. Michael Feagles of Illinois leads the 75-player field with a 3-under-par 68.

Schroeder began his day 1-under-par through three holes thanks to a birdie on the par-4 No. 3. He was one of only four golfers on the day to birdie the 427-yard, par-4 hole. He would finish the front nine with three pars and four bogeys to shoot 2-over-par 38. After a couple of bogeys to begin the back nine, Schroeder carded a birdie on No. 15. He went on to finish his round with a pair of pars and a bogey to shoot a 4-over-par 75. His score ranks him third lowest by the 10 individuals playing in the regional.

Schroeder tees off for the second round of the NCAA Columbus Regional tomorrow, May 15, at 9:53 a.m.
