FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Despite several good scoring opportunities, the Purdue Fort Wayne Mastodons tied Indiana State 0-0 on Sunday (Aug. 19) at the Warrior Athletic Field.
Three different 'Dons took three shots each through 110 minutes with Hannah Kroger, Kayla Wisniewski and Deanna Hecht. Purdue Fort Wayne led in shots 13-6. Hecht took a shot on goal with just three minutes remaining in the second overtime, but Indiana State's keeper Hannah Sullivan made the save to bring her total to six on the afternoon. She earned the shutout for Indiana State. Haley Lydon and Lorah Pund split the duties in goal to earn the team shutout.
The 'Dons led in corners 7-0, taking five in the first half. Wisniewski had a shot on goal with under four minutes left in regulation that almost slipped past Sullivan, but it did not find the back of the net.
Both squads move to 0-1-1 on the season. Purdue Fort Wayne will be back in action on Thursday (Aug. 23) when they hit the road to face off against Western Michigan.
