Mastodons 14th After First Day of Cardinal Classic

YORKTOWN, Ind. - Through the first two rounds of the Cardinal Classic, the Purdue Fort Wayne women's golf team is in 14th place with a team score of 312-321-633.
Hosted by Ball State at the par-72 The Players Club, the tournament course is being played at 6,204 yards. UIndy leads the team standings with a 2-under-par 574. Cailyn Henderson also of UIndy sits atop the individual leaderboard after shooting a 5-under-par 139.
The Mastodons sit one shot back of 13th place Central Michigan and lead Summit League foe Western Illinois by 26 strokes.
Emma Schroeder leads the 'Dons, carding rounds of 75-80-155 and is tied for 33rd. She carded four birdies on the day, three of which came during the opening round. Holly Anderson is one shot back in a tie for 42nd. Anderson carded a pair of birdies during her rounds, shooting a 75 and an 81. Finishing the day tied for 61st are Abigail Carlsen and Paige Bird with identical rounds of 81 and 80. Carlsen recorded two birdies, while Bird finished with two of her own, coming on back-to-back holes during the second round. Linnzie Richner rounded out the team scoring for the Mastodons with an 84-82-166 and is tied for 75th.
The final round of the Cardinal Classic is a shotgun start tomorrow, September 18, at 9 a.m.
