'Dons Fall to Tennessee Tech at Home

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The Purdue Fort Wayne women's soccer team fell to Tennessee Tech 4-0 on Sunday afternoon (Sept. 2) at the Hefner Soccer Complex.
Golden Eagle Kendall Powell found the back of the net three times for a hat-trick. Her first goal came in the 22nd minute by getting on her own and beating Purdue Fort Wayne keeper Haley Lydon one-on-one. Her second came from a feed from Chloe Smith into the 18 that she shot in minute 53. The third came from a bicycle kick from Vivianna Lomeli that split the defense inside the 18. The Golden Eagles final goal of the afternoon came on a penalty kick from Courtney Manning. Kari Naerdemann got credited with the shutout for the Golden Eagles.
Hannah Kroger led the Mastodons with four shots. Haley Lydon and Lorah Pund split the goalkeeper duties once again for the 'Dons. Purdue Fort Wayne falls to 1-4-1, while Tennessee Tech improves to 3-3-0. The Mastodons are back in action on Friday (Sept. 7) when they host Youngstown State at 7 p.m. at the Hefner Soccer Complex.
