Purdue Fort Wayne Women's Golf to Host Mastodon Fall Invite

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Purdue Fort Wayne women's golf will host the first Mastodon Fall Invite since 2008, with the first two rounds taking place on Monday (Oct. 14), and the second on Tuesday (Oct. 15).

Competing Teams
Purdue Fort Wayne, Indiana State, Central Michigan, Oakland, Bowling Green, Green Bay and Taylor will all compete for the Mastodon Fall Invite title.
The Course
Pine Valley County Club was founded in 1976 with the mission and vision to create a unique and superior private club experience for its membership. Pine Valley boasts an 18-hole championship golf course considered one of the finest in the Midwest. The course was designed by Robert M. Lohmann.
Heading West... WAAAAAAAY West
Laura Caetano will not be competing in the Mastodon Fall Invite because she will be representing the Brazilian Armed Forces in the Military World Games in Wuhan, China. The games go from October 18-28. The 7th edition of the Military World Games is expected to feature over 100 nations and over 9,500 athletes. This event is the second largest multi-sporting event in the world, second to only that of the Olympic Games.
Mastodon Lineup
Emma Schroeder, Holly Anderson, Linnzie Richner, Kennedy Brooker and Sarah Lewis will represent the Purdue Fort Wayne team. Luiza Caetano will play on the 'Dons home course, but she will compete as an individual.
Smashing Records
In the opening tournament of the 2019-20 season, the Golfweek Program Championship, Purdue Fort Wayne broke a pair of records. Laura Caetano broke the 36-hole individual record with a score of 146. After all 54 holes were played, Purdue Fort Wayne crushed the previous 54-hole record by 28 strokes. The Mastodons finished the tournament with a 912, breaking the 940 at the Cardinal Classic in 2018.
Last Time Out
Purdue Fort Wayne finished fifth at the Shirley Spork EMU Invitational on October 1. Holly Anderson placed ninth overall for her four-career top-10 finish with a 72-74-224.
Next Time Up
The 'Dons will travel to Birmingham, Michigan to play the Chippewa Invite on Monday-Tuesday, October 21-22. This will be their final tournament of the fall season.
