Women's Golf Heads to Chippewa Invite on Monday

BIRMINGHAM, Mich. - Purdue Fort Wayne women's golf is heading to its last tournament of the fall season on Monday (Oct. 14) at the Chippewa Invite.

When: October 21-22 (Monday tee times beginning at 10 a.m. and Tuesday shotgun start 10 a.m.)

Laura Caetano will not be competing in the Chippewa Invitational because she is representing the Brazilian Armed Forces in the Military World Games in Wuhan, China. The games go from October 18-28. The 7th edition of the Military World Games is expected to feature over 100 nations and over 9,500 athletes. This event is the second largest multi-sporting event in the world, second to only that of the Olympic Games.
Mastodon Lineup
Purdue Fort Wayne will bring along Holly Anderson, Linnzie Richner, Kennedy Brooker, Emma Schroeder and Sarah Lewis to compete for the team scores. Luiza Caetano will play as an individual.
Smashing Records
In the opening tournament of the 2019-20 season, the Golfweek Program Championship, Purdue Fort Wayne broke a pair of records. Laura Caetano broke the 36-hole individual record with a score of 146. After all 54 holes were played, Purdue Fort Wayne crushed the previous 54-hole record by 28 strokes. The Mastodons finished the tournament with a 912, breaking the 940 at the Cardinal Classic in 2018.
Last Time Out
Purdue Fort Wayne hosted the Mastodon Fall Invite on Monday and Tuesday, coming in fifth after 54 holes of action. Kennedy Brooker finished 11th with a 237 at Pine Valley Country Club.
Next Time Up
The 'Dons are finished with their fall season after the Chippewa Invite. The Mastodons will take the course in the spring on February 3-4 at the Mid-American Match Play in Lakewood Ranch, Florida. Bowling Green hosts the event at the Lakewood Ranch Country Club.
