'Dons Take on Omaha For Halloween Matchup

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Purdue Fort Wayne women's soccer will be back at Indiana Tech's Warrior Athletic Field on October 31 at 7 p.m. for a haunting Halloween matchup against the Omaha Mavericks.

Scouting the Mastodons (4-9-3, 0-5-1 Summit League)
The Mastodons are finishing up conference regular season play at home against Omaha (Oct. 31) and Oral Roberts (Nov. 3). Hannah Kroger, Morgan Reitano and Eliese LaCourt have scored two goals apiece this season and are leading the Mastodons in goals. Kayla Wisniewski is leading the way for the 'Dons in shots with 41.

Omaha will be finishing up their conference regular season at the Hefner Soccer Complex. The Mavericks fell to North Dakota 5-2 on Oct. 27. Sydney Randall grabbed the lead for the Mavericks in the 15th minute and Laurin Mertz contributed with a goal in minute 76.

Purdue Fort Wayne had its best start to a season through 10 games in program history with a 4-4-2 record in nonconference play. The stretch included a six-match unbeaten streak. The 'Dons topped Chicago State, Eastern Illinois, Valparaiso and Detroit Mercy. All matches that the 'Dons have won were shutouts. The Mastodons had their first tie of the season against Robert Morris on August 25 with a final line of 1-1. They also tied Southern Illinois 1-1.

The Purdue Fort Wayne women's soccer team received the United Soccer Coaches Academic Award for the 2018-2019 academic year. The Mastodons had a cumulative team GPA of 3.63. This is the eighth year in a row that women's soccer has received the Coaches Academic Award.

Purdue Fort Wayne will end their final Summit League season at home on Sunday (Nov. 3) at 1 p.m. against the Oral Roberts Golden Eagles. Sunday's game will also be senior day the six seniors: Chloee Foor, Emily Hayner, Hannah Kroger, Lauren Lawrence, Gabbie Mann and Kendall Quinn will be recognized before the match.
