Eastern Michigan Tops Purdue Fort Wayne

YPSILANTI, Mich. - Purdue Fort Wayne women's basketball dropped a midweek contest to Eastern Michigan 64-40 at the Convention Center on Tuesday (Dec. 10)
Hannah Albrecht netted 13 points on 4 of 10 shooting, with 3 of 5 coming from behind the 3-point arc.
Purdue Fort Wayne held a 13-11 lead after the Mastodons rattled off eight straight points early on. Jazzy Hughes hit a 3-pointer and a mid-range jumper, followed by a Shayla Sellers triple. The difference came just moments later, as Eastern Michigan went on a 26-3 run over the next 15:52, in which six different Eagles scored.
The Mastodons finished the game on a 12-3 run, spurred by Albrecht making three straight buckets from distance.
Hannah Hess played in her first action of the season, recording two points, two rebounds and two assists in 18 minutes of play.
The Mastodons fall to 3-8 while Eastern Michigan moves to 3-6. Purdue Fort Wayne will return home to play another non-league game against Evansville on Friday (Dec. 13) in the Gates Sports Center.
