DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The Purdue Fort Wayne men's golf team had play suspended due to darkness during the second round of the Gary Freeman Invitational. The Mastodons finished the morning round tied for sixth place with a team score of 310.

Hosted by Bethune-Cookman, the par-72 LGPA International - Hills Course is being played at 6,984 yards. The host Wildcats lead the team standings with an 18-hole score of 294. Austin Briggs of St. John's sits atop the individual leaderboard with a 2-under-par 70.

The Mastodons are tied with Robert Morris and sit two shots back of William Woods.

Callahan Elzey leads the 'Dons in a tie for fourth place with a 73 after carding a team-high three birdies. Zac Turi carded a 77 during the opening round to finish tied for 25th. Zach Schroeder, Clark Tiller, and Eric Brinker all carded an 80 for the round and are tied for 47th place.

Parker Deakyne played as an individual and is tied for ninth with a 75. Luke Miller carded an 82 and is tied for 58th.

The second round of the Gary Freeman Invitational resumes tomorrow, March 8, with the final round to immediately follow.
