Schroeder Second After Round One of Wright State Invitational

SPRINGBORO, Ohio - Zach Schroeder finished day one of the Wright State Invitational in second place with a three-under 67. The invitational's format changed due to weather. Only one round was played on Sunday (April 14) instead of two. There will still be only one round will be played on Monday.
Schroeder dropped six birdies on the day with three on both sides, en route to a 33 on the back nine. He is one back of Jacob Poore from Northern Kentucky for the lead.
Callahan Elzey was second for the Mastodons, sitting at tied for 20th for the round with a 73. He had three birdies, with an even 35 on the back nine. Clark Tiller was next for the 'Dons with a 76, notching a one-under 34 on the front to tie for 45th. Josh Keating was one stroke behind Tiller with a 77, carding birdies on the fourth and seventh holes. Another stroke back, Eric Brinker finished the day with a 78. He birdied the par-three 12th and carded a pair of 39s. Zac Turi pitched in an opening round 83.
In the play-six, take-five format, the Mastodons totaled 371 for seventh place out of 12 teams. Wittenberg leads the field with a 12-over 362.
Cody White played individually, carding an 80 with a birdie and nine pars.
The Mastodons will play the final round of the invitational tomorrow (Monday, April 15).
