Men’s Soccer Tabbed For Third In The Summit League

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - The Summit League released the 2019 men's soccer preseason poll on Monday (Aug. 19) and Purdue Fort Wayne was picked for third.
The Mastodons earned 16 points to grab the third spot. Denver (24 points, four first place votes) and Omaha (21 points, two first place votes) were picked above the 'Dons. Oral Roberts, Western Illinois and Eastern Illinois followed.
Purdue Fort Wayne advanced to the Summit League Tournament last season after winning an NCAA Division I era program record 10 matches.
Sophomore midfielder Emil Fosse was picked as a "Player to Watch" by the league head coaches in 2019.
Purdue Fort Wayne is back in action on Sunday, August 25 at Valparaiso in an exhibition. The Mastodons open the regular season August 30 vs. Marshall at the Hefner Soccer Complex at 7 p.m.
