FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Purdue Fort Wayne women's soccer team will remain on the road for another matchup against the Robert Morris Colonials on Sunday, August 25 at 1 p.m.

Scouting the Mastodons (0-1-0, 0-0-0 Summit League)
The 'Dons faced off against the Youngstown State Penguins, but fell 2-1. Junior Eliese LaCourt scored the only goal in her first regular season game as a Mastodon after a corner kick by Tahra Brodbine. Purdue Fort Wayne out-shot Youngstown State 23-13 and dominated in corner kicks 5-2.
Scouting the Colonials (0-1-0, 0-0-0 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference)
The Colonials couldn't hold off the Bucknell Bison's offense and lost their opener 2-1. Robert Morris' Kristina Kelley scored the only goal for Colonials at the 32nd minute. Robert Morris goalkeeper, Sydney Bruckner, calculated seven saves.
When We Last Met
The 'Dons last saw the Colonials in 2017 and took home a win with a score of 4-2. Deanna Hecht and Kendall Quinn both tallied two goals apiece and the Mastodons led in saves 7-3. The Mastodons lead 2-0 in the series.
Senior on the Rise
Hannah Kroger scored two of the six goals in the exhibition match (Aug. 13) against the Saint Francis Cougars. Kroger scored the first goal of the game within the first two minutes. Shortly after that, she assisted Kayla Wisniewski in the second goal of the game at 6:31.
Defensive-Minded 'Dons
The Mastodons held three of their opponents scoreless in the entire match last season. Those opponents were Saint Francis (Ind.), Youngstown State and Chicago State. For 2019, the Mastodons will have eight defensemen fighting for a spot on the back line.
Wisniewski in the Books
Kayla Wisniewski had a successful season in 2018. In just her first year as a Mastodon, Wisniewski made it into the record books for five separate categories. She is currently tied for seventh with three game-winning goals in a career and in a single-season. She is also tied for sixth with 1.00 points per game and fifth with eight goals. Wisniewski also ranks seventh overall with an average of 0.42 goals per game and fifth overall with 19 points earned in a single-season.
Party at the Pitch
The women's soccer team will host Valparaiso at 7 p.m. on September 13 at the Hefner Soccer Complex. The men's soccer team will face off against Belmont at 5 p.m. before the women's game. Starting at 4:30 p.m., there will be free food for students and food trucks for spectators and admission is free.
