FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Purdue Fort Wayne women's soccer team will go back on the road and head to Chicago State for a matchup on Friday, August 30 at 2 p.m.

Scouting the Mastodons (0-1-1, 0-0-0 Summit League)
The Mastodons ended in a 1-1 draw against Robert Morris on Sunday. August 25. Freshman forward Morgan Reitano scored the only goal for the 'Dons and earned her first goal as a Mastodon. Lorah Pund tallied five saves and kept the Colonials from scoring in overtime. The Mastodons started off the season on the road against Youngstown State where they fell 2-1. Eliese LaCourt also scored her first goal as a Mastodon at Youngstown State.
Scouting the Cougars (0-2-0, 0-0-0 Western Athletic Conference)
The Cougars fell 2-0 to Green Bay on Sunday, August 25. The Cougars Judith Sorribes, tallied seven saves by the Phoenix. Chicago State also faced off against the Northern Iowa Panthers on August 22, but couldn't hold off their opponent and lost 5-0. Julia Oliveira attempted three shots on goal for the Cougars. Chicago State won an exhibition match 3-0 against Mid-American Conference member Northern Illinois.
When We Last Met
The 'Dons last saw the Cougars in 2018 and shut down Chicago State 5-0. Kayla Wisniewski scored three goals, two of those goals were assisted by Kendall Quinn. Deanna Hecht and Hannah Kroger contributed one goal apiece in the second half. Hecht also contributed two assists and four shots on goal. Goalkeeper Lorah Pund added eight saves in the matchup to keep the Cougars scoreless.
New Faces. Big Moves.
Two new Mastodons are making names for themselves early in the season. Morgan Reitano and Eliese LaCourt have both scored a goal in the last two matchups for the Mastodons. LaCourt scored the only goal against Youngstown State and collected her first goal as a Mastodon. Reitano also scored the only goal against Robert Morris and earned her first collegiate career goal.
Wisniewski in the Books
Kayla Wisniewski had a successful season in 2018. In just her first year as a Mastodon, Wisniewski made it into the record books for five separate categories. She is currently tied for seventh with three game-winning goals in a career and in a single-season. She is also tied for sixth with 1.00 points per game and fifth with eight goals. Wisniewski also ranks seventh overall with an average of 0.42 goals per game and fifth overall with 19 points earned in a single-season.
Party at the Pitch
The women's soccer team will host Valparaiso at 7 p.m. on September 13 at the Hefner Soccer Complex. The men's soccer team will face off against Belmont at 5 p.m. before the women's game. Starting at 4:30 p.m., there will be free food for students and food trucks for spectators and admission is free.

Purdue Fort Wayne will return to Hefner Soccer Complex on Friday, September 6 at 7 p.m. and will take on Southern Illinois. This will be the first meeting for the Mastodons and first-year program Southern Illinois.
