Mastodons Earn Shutout Victory at Chicago State 1-0

CHICAGO - The Purdue Fort Wayne women's soccer team ended their single match weekend with a 1-0 shutout victory at Chicago State on Friday (Aug. 30) afternoon.
The first half remained scoreless, but the Mastodons led the Cougars in corner kicks 3-0 and shots 4-2 after 45 minutes in .
In the second half, Hannah Kroger scored the lone goal of the game at the 78th minute and was assisted by Kayla Wisniewski.
The defense was led by goalkeeper Lorah Pund who kept Chicago State from scoring. Purdue Fort Wayne limited the Cougars to only two shots on goal in the contest.
Wisniewski contributed three shots on goal while Gabbie Mann had two shots on goal. Kendall Quinn and Kroger added one shot on goal each to help the Mastodons lead in shots on goal 7-2.

The 'Dons will return to Fort Wayne on Friday, September 6 at 7 p.m. and will take on the Southern Illinois Salukis. This will be the first meeting for the Mastodons and first-year program Southern Illinois.
