'Dons Face Off Against Eastern Michigan on Tuesday

YPSILANTI, Mich. - Purdue Fort Wayne women's volleyball is set for a matchup with Eastern Michigan on Tuesday at 6 p.m.

Scouting Eastern Michigan
Eastern Michigan is 3-5 this season, and is coming off a 3-0 loss at Michigan. Franki Strefling is leading the team with 96 kills, followed closely behind by Cassie Haut with 85. Haut also leads the team in hitting percentage with .311. The Eagles are heading to the Purdue Tournament this weekend.
Coming Up on 1,500
Purdue Fort Wayne's 1,500th program match will take place against Central Arkansas in the SIUE Tournament on September 21. The Mastodons have a .639 winning percentage over the course of the program's 42-year history.

Rachael Crucis has had at least 20 digs in three contests this season. She had 25 digs off the bench against Western Michigan in her first collegiate outing, 23 in the Mastodons' comeback against UC Riverside, and 24 in the 'Dons win over Eastern Illinois.
Comeback Baby!
After dropping the first two sets to UC Riverside 25-7, 25-23, Purdue Fort Wayne won the last three sets 25-23, 29-27, 16-14. Elizabeth Fuerst had 13 kills to lead the team, followed by Madelyn Wurster and Katie Crowe who each had 12. Sydney Boerst had seven blocks to lead the Mastodon defense.
All Them Double-Doubles
Madison Gates has five double-doubles so far this season, including three consecutive double-doubles through the first three matches of the season. These are the first five double-doubles of her career.
Welcoming the Newcomers
Purdue Fort Wayne had five newcomers earn time on the court in the first month of play: Rachael Crucis, Alexandra Traciak, Maddi Nell, Sidney Schiller and Kendyll Gebert all played in the Purdue Fort Wayne Invitational in the opening weekend. Crucis and Schiller both solidified roles in the starting lineup.
On the Double... Double!
Katie Crowe has 23 double-doubles in three years with the Mastodons, 11 of which came in 2018. Of the 23, 15 of them came on Arnie Ball Court. Crowe has four double-double so far this season.
Hittin' High
Sydney Boerst currently ranks second in program history in career hitting percentage at .319. She is the leader in the rally scoring era (2001-present), and only trails Andi Reichart (.362) overall.
Between a Block and a Hard Place
Sydney Boerst holds a 0.93 blocks per set average for her career, which ranks seventh in program history. Sixth on the list is Natalie Seiler, who averaged 0.94 blocks per set from 2014-17.
Last Time Out
Purdue Fort Wayne went 1-2 at the Dunn Hospitality Tournament in Evansville, topping Eastern Illinois in four sets. The Mastodons went to five sets with Middle Tennessee.
Next Time Up
The Mastodons are set to play in one last tournament before Summit League play begins. The 'Dons will visit Edwardsville, Illinois for the Cougar Classic, when they will play Presbyterian, Central Arkansas and SIUE.
