Girolami and Ashley Earn Athletes of the Week Honors

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - The Summit League announced on Tuesday (Jan. 14) that Purdue Fort Wayne's Savannah Girolami and Naomi Ashley were selected as the women's Track and Field Athletes of the Week. This is Purdue Fort Wayne's second consecutive women's Track and Field Athlete of the Week accolades this season.
Girolami earned her first-career Summit League Track Athlete of the Week honor after finishing second in the 400 meter dash and a personal best time of 58.94. She also took fourth in the 200 meter dash with a time of 25.98.
Naomi Ashley also earned her first-career Summit League Field Athlete of the Week honor. She competed in the long jump with a seventh place finish and a mark of 4.99m.
Girolami, Ashley and the 'Dons will return to the Lutheran Health Fieldhouse on January 18th for the Mastodon Invitational. The meet will be Senior Day and two seniors will be recognized before the events begin.
