Mastodon T&F Leads Three HL Events After Spartan Invitational

EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Purdue Fort Wayne women's track and field team competed at Michigan State's Spartan Invitational on Friday (April 3).
Ava Genovese (4:33.90) and Riley Tate (4:36.32) walked away from the 1500 meters as the two fastest times in the Horizon League, each running personal records in the event. Haylee Hile (4:51.27) also ran a personal record time in the event.
Bella Hodges' 800 meters time of 2:11.66 at Michigan State stands as the fastest in the league. Tate earned third in HL standings after her first collegiate finish in the event with a time of 2:15.64. Genovese ran a personal record 2:17.19 time, good for fifth in the Horizon League.
Ali Sparks threw a league-best 54.87 meter hammer throw mark at the Spartan Invitational.
Hile placed second in the HL 3000 meter steeplechase standings, running a time of 11:17.30.
Kynzlei Bassett ran a personal record 17:53.87 5000 meters time.
The 'Dons will head to Ole Miss for the Joe Walker Invite (April 10-11).
