Schroeder Leads 'Dons to Fourth at Dayton Flyer Invitational

KETTERING, Ohio - Behind Emma Schroeder's week of 75-75-150, the Purdue Fort Wayne women's golf team took fourth at the Dayton Flyer Invitational on Tuesday (Oct. 19).
Schroeder, who took 11th place individually, started on one and went par, birdie, par. She got another birdie on the 330-yard sixth. Schroeder turned in 10 pars to go with her two birdies. Schroeder had the best score on par-3's for the week, tying four others at 1-under. Laura Caetano started her day with two birdies in the first three holes, going 2-under early. After a birdie on seven, she finished the front at 1-over. She birdied 13 after making the turn and shot 77 for a 151 once the scorecard had been totaled. She took 15th place.
With only four holes above par, Anna Olafsdottir shot a 75 to finish in a tie for 31st with a 155 for the week. She birdied 12, which came in the middle of a stretch of nine holes of par or better. She had 13 pars overall. Kennedy Brooker had her score taken to round out the team score. She turned in a 79-77-156 for 38th place. Her 77 came by way of nine pars and a birdie on hole nine. Taylor Norman turned in an 83-81-164 for 62nd place. She had 10 pars and a birdie on hole seven.
Ohio State's Alexis Phadungmartvorakul won the tournament with a 139. UIndy's team score of 589 was enough to win the team trophy.
The Mastodons are done with their fall season. They will take the course again in the spring.
