Ryin Ott Named Horizon League Freshman of the Week

INDIANAPOLIS - The Horizon League announced its first weekly awards of the season on Monday (Nov. 15) and Purdue Fort Wayne guard Ryin Ott was named the league's Freshman of the Week.
In her Mastodon debut against Manchester, the 5-foot-10 guard scored 16 points and grabbed six rebounds, while also recording three steals and two assists without a turnover. She shot 7-of-12 (58.3 percent) from the floor and 2-of-4 (50 percent) from long range.
Ott scored 16 of the team's 102 points in the Mastodons' 67-point win over the Spartans, which was the 'Dons' largest margin of victory since 1995.
She is the first Mastodon in program history to be named Horizon League Freshman of the Week. She is the first Mastodon to earn a weekly honor since Hannah Albrecht was the Summit League Player of the Week on December 16, 2019.
Ott and the Mastodons will take the floor again on Thursday (Nov. 18). Horizon League play begins when UIC visits the Gates Sports Center.
