Women's Basketball Earns WBCA Academic Special Mention

ATLANTA - The Purdue Fort Wayne women's basketball program picked up a special mention from the Women's Basketball Coaches Association in the organization's Academic Top 25 on Tuesday (July 21).
In the 2025-26 academic year, the Mastodons had a team grade-point average of 3.590, which ranked as the 47th-best nationally. The Horizon League was well-represented, as Green Bay (3.965, No. 1), Youngstown State (3.820, No. 4), Milwaukee (3.699, No. 18), Cleveland State (3.693, No. 20), Northern Kentucky (3.650, 27th), Purdue Fort Wayne (3.590, 47th) and Wright State (3.588, 48th) all cracked the top-50. The Mastodons owned the highest GPA among Division I programs in the state of Indiana.
The WBCA Academic Top 25 recognizes college women's basketball teams across the nation in their respective divisions that carry the highest combined GPAs inclusive of all student-athletes on their rosters for the entire season. A team must have a combined GPA of 3.0 or better and be nominated by its head coach who must be a member of the WBCA to be recognized. The 2025-26 season is the 31st in which the WBCA has compiled the honor rolls.
This is the fifth time in the last six years that the Mastodons have been recognized by the WBCA for their GPA.
