KNOW YOUR FOE:
• Earlham opened up the 2021-22 season with an 84-78 loss to Rockford on Friday.
• Anthony Phillips and Kolden Vanlandingham both tallied 18 points for the Quakers in the loss to Rockford.
• Earlham went 1-8 last season in an abbreviated schedule. The NCAA Division III Quakers went 10-15 in 2019-20.
• Joe Scheuers is the head coach of the Quakers. The Trine graduate is in his third season.
• The only other meeting between the two teams came on Nov. 8, 2018. The 'Dons won 112-51. Jarred Godfrey scored 23 points in his collegiate home debut.
A BIT ON JARRED GODFREY:
• Jarred Godfrey was selected to the 2020-21 All-Horizon League Third Team last season.
• He was named to the 2021-22 All-Horizon League Preseason Team.
• Jarred Godfrey owns 1,100 career points, 11th most in program history. He'll stay in 11th for awhile as No. 10 is David Simon. He scored 1,237 points from 2002-05.
• Jarred Godfrey enters the season with 89 career games and 59 starts. He shot a career-best 80.9 percent from the free throw line last season. He also averaged a career-best 16.2 points, 5.4 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game.
• Jarred Godfrey scored 41 points vs. UIC on Jan. 8, 2021. The career high stands as the most by a Mastodon in program history at the Gates Sports Center. It was also three points shy of the program record for points in a game. He finished a career-best 11-of-12 from the line. Godfrey scored eight points in overtime.
ADDITION BY ADDITION:
• Damian Chong Qui joins the Mastodons in 2021-22. He helped Mount St. Mary's to an NCAA Tournament berth last season. He averaged 15.1 points per game for The Mount last year.
• Damian Chong Qui enters the season with 950 career points, needing just 50 to reach 1,000
• Damian Chong Qui is the second Mastodon to join the 'Dons after playing at Mt. Saint Mary's. Bobby Planutis spent his freshman season of 2017-18 at The Mount.
DAYS UPON DAYS:
• It has been 643 days since the 'Dons have played at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum. The last contest was a 75-69 victory over Western Illinois on Feb. 5, 2020.
• The time the Mastodons played in front of home fans was Feb. 26, 2020 a 58-51 victory over Denver at the Gates Sports Center. A span of 622 days.

• The Mastodons are 7-0 in home openers under Jon Coffman.
FITS THE BILL:
• Deonte Billups is nearing 500 points. He owns 485 points.
PIP FROM THE FLOOR:
• Jalon Pipkins shot 52.7 percent from the floor last season (127-of-241), fourth best in the Horizon League.
BOBBY FOR THREE:
• Bobby Planutis made 45.5 percent from three last season, making 46-of-101.
LAST SEASON THE 'DONS...:
• Ranked second in the nation in Effective Field Goal Percentage (eFG%) at 58.2.
• Finished fourth in the nation in field goal shooting (50.1 percent) only behind Gonzaga, Stephen F. Austin and Weber State.
• Finished fourth in the nation in 3-point field goal percentage (40.0 percent) only behind Baylor, South Dakota State and Colgate.
• Were the only team to rank in the top five in the nation in field goal and 3-point field goal percentage.
• Saw their 50.1 field goal percentage rank as the best in Division I program history and the best since 1992-93 for a Mastodon team.
• Recorded three of the Mastodons' top 10 all-time 3-point percentage performances.
