Seven to Join Mastodon Hall of Fame

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Seven illustrious student-athletes make up the 2022 Purdue University Fort Wayne Athletic Hall of Fame class, announced on Wednesday, Dec. 1.
The 2022 Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will take place on Sunday, Feb. 13 at a brunch during Purdue Fort Wayne's annual Homecoming week. Their plaques will be added to the Hall of Fame display in the lobby of the Gates Sports Center.
The 2022 class includes:
Courtney Cronin – (softball) – 2009-12
Cronin was a game changer in the circle and at the plate. The 2010 Summit League Pitcher of the Year led the 'Dons to a pair of second-place finishes in the Summit League regular season. She paced the Mastodons to its best record in program history in 2012, as the Mastodons went 45-14, and won 17 games in league play. Cronin's awards were numerous, including eight Pitcher of the Week awards, one Offensive Player of the Week award, four All-League honors, and two Academic All-District First Team selections. Her nine Player of the Week honors stand as the second-most in Summit League history. Her 63 career wins is eighth most in Summit League history while her 1.81 career ERA ranks 15th in league history. At the plate, she finished fifth in program history with 98 RBIs and sixth in home runs (21).
Amanda (Hyde) Barrientos – (women's basketball) – 2010-14
Barrientos was the Summit League Player of the Year in 2012-13 and 2013-14. She was a seven-time Summit League Player of the Week. She has the top four single-game scoring games in the NCAA Division I era for the 'Dons, including 43 points against Southern Ilinois on Nov. 29, 2012. That 43-point outing ranks fifth in Summit League history. The 670 points Barrientos scored in 2013-14 are the third most for a season in program history. For her career, she is fourth in program history in scoring with 1,676 points. She is second in free throw percentage (86.1 percent), third in made free throws (497), tied for fourth in assists (302), 10th in field goal percentage (47.8 percent) and 10th in steals (151). In the classroom, she was a CoSIDA Academic All-America First Team selection in 2013-14 and a Second Team honoree in 2012-13. Barrientos was the I-AAA Athletic Director's Association Scholar Athlete of the Year in 2012-13 and 2013-14.
CJ Macias – (men's volleyball) – (2006-08)
Macias averaged 5.41 points per set in his career, the best in program history during the rally scoring era. He was an AVCA All-America Second Team selection in 2006 and 2007. Macias was also a First Team All-MIVA honoree in 2006, 2007 and 2008. He ranks sixth in Mastodon history in both career kills (1,531) and service aces (116). He ranks 18th in program history in career digs (555). His 609 kills in 2006 is the most by a Mastodon for a single season during the rally scoring era. He earned three MIVA Player of the Week honors and one AVCA National Player of the Week accolade. He helped the 'Dons to a MIVA Tournament championships in 2006 and 2007 as well as National Runner-up finish in 2007.
Crystal Martinez Reichert – (cross country, indoor/outdoor track & field) – 2006-10
She was named to the cross country First Team All-Summit League in 2007 and 2008 and indoor track and field First Team All-Summit League in 2007-08, 2008-09 and outdoor track and field All-Summit League in 2008, 2009 and 2010. In 2008 she was the runner up at the Summit League Championship. Martinez Reichart qualified for the NCAA Championships in 2008, placing 177th overall. She helped the 'Dons to a Summit League Cross Country Championship in 2007 and a runner-up finish in 2008. She was also a three-time Outdoor All-Summit League selection and a two-time Indoor All-Summit League selection in track. Martinez Reichart was a USTFCCCA All-Academic selection in 2008.
Crystina Ridenour – (cross country, indoor/outdoor track & field) – 2006-10
Ridenour won the Summit League Cross Country Athlete of the Week award six times in her career, including five in 2008 which is still tied for the most in a single season in league history. Her 2008 season was capped with the 2008 Summit League Athlete of the Year and Championship MVP after winning the league title in a time of 20:54.9. Her performance still stands as the sixth fastest winning 6K time in league history. In 2009 she was the Summit League 3,000 and 5,000-meter champion indoors and the Summit League 10,000-meter champion outdoors. She was an All-Summit League selection for indoor track and field in 2008-09, and outdoor track and field in 2008 and 2010.
Amy Recht-Hanlon – (women's tennis) – 2008-11
Recht-Hanlon was a four-time Summit League Player of the Year. She never lost in Summit League play in her career, finishing 28-0, which is the most wins in Summit League history. Recht-Hanlon was an 11-time Summit League Player of the Week honoree, tied for the most in Summit League history. Recht-Hanlon helped the Mastodons to league titles in 2010 and 2011. She finished her career first in program history in overall wins (233), single wins (122) and doubles wins (111).
Brad Smock – (baseball) – 1998-01
Smock was a catcher for the Mastodons during their final seasons as an NCAA Division II member. His name is scattered the Mastodon record book. He ranks fourth in runs scored (124), fifth in hits (191), fifth in total bases (273), sixth in at-bats (626), sixth in career starts (178), seventh in doubles (31), eighth in RBIs (100) and 10th in walks (80). The Carroll High School graduate was an All-GLVC Second Team selection in 1999.
