Mastodons Prepare To Compete In Strive For Greatness Invitational

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Purdue Fort Wayne track & field teams travel to Indiana Tech to compete in the Strive For Greatness Invitational at the Turnstone Fieldhouse on Friday, Dec. 10.

Field events begin at noon starting with the men's pole vault and women's high jump. Track events begin at 3 p.m. with the 60-meter dash prelims. For those interested in attending, general admission cost $8 per person. There will be no live results, however, results will be posted on the upper level of the facility, and online after the meet.
Strong Start
The 'Dons will look to build on last weekend's performance at the Mastodon Opener. At last Saturday's meet, Asher Walden (men's weight throw, 16.35 meters), Kehinde Oladapo (men's 5,000 meter run, 15:01.65), and Selena Johnson (women's triple jump, 11.73 meters) all broke program records.
On the men's side, the 4 by 400 team's time of 3:28.50 is good for second in the Horizon League and Austin Dove's mark of 1.95 meters in the men's high jump is third in the Horizon League.
On the women's side, Johnson's mark in the triple jump ranks 47th in the country, and Madison King's 5,000 meter run time of 17:38.58 ranks 100th in the country. Both marks are first in the Horizon League.
