Four 'Dons shoot in 70s on Final Day of Colonel Classic

RICHMOND, Ky. - The Purdue Fort Wayne women's golf team had four Mastodons score in the 70s in the final round of the Eastern Kentucky's Colonel Classic. The 'Dons finished the week with a 913 team score, just two shots shy of the program's 54-hole record.
Holly Anderson finished the tournament in a tie for 14th with a 78 on her final day (76-69-78-223). She birdied the third hole and got pars on 11 holes. Anderson finished the tournament with the second-best average on par-3s, with a par-3 average after 54 holes. Emma Schroeder had one of the best averages on par-5s in the field with a 4.75 average for the week. In her final round, she had two birdies on par-5s, coming on holes two and 12. She also birdied the par-4 11th hole. Schroeder was just 1-over par on the front nine with a birdie and six pars. She tied for 22nd in the field.
Laura Caetano shot a 79 in her last round to tie for 41st with a 77-76-79-232. She parred seven holes on the front nine and five on the back. Anna Olafsdottir rounded out the team score by tying her season-best of 77. She tied for 45th with a score of 81-75-77-233 thanks to 12 pars and a birdie in round three. She birdied the 458-yard par-5 13th hole.
Linnzie Richner shot an 85 to finish the week in 78th with an 87-81-85-253. She had a birdie on 12 and seven pars on the day. Kennedy Brooker competed as an individual, shooting 84-78-84-246 to tie for 72nd.
Host Eastern Kentucky won the tournament by 18 shots with an 875. EKU's Ragga Kristindottir was the individual medalist with a 209.
The Mastodons will return to the course again in two weeks, but they'll stay in-state this time. IUPUI's Lady Jag Invite will be the next stop for Purdue Fort Wayne on April 12-13.
