Mastodon WVB to Face Two Ranked Foes at Stacey Clark Classic

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The Mastodons are set to face off against a pair of top 25 teams this weekend at the Stacey Clark Classic this weekend: No. 22 Tennessee and No. 9 Purdue. The 'Dons will also face a 9-1 Jacksonville State team in the tournament in West Lafayette.

Purdue Fort Wayne had 14 aces against Old Dominion on Saturday, September 11, which was the most a Mastodon squad had in a single match since October 5, 2007. In a match against South Dakota State on that date, the 'Dons had 16 aces.

The Mastodons picked up their first win of the season at Western Michigan on September 4. The Broncos won the Discover Kalamazoo Classic, but the 'Dons were the only team to beat them in the weekend. Katie Crowe led the 'Dons with 15 kills and 12 digs, while Ramei Jackson had 13 kills with a .550 hitting clip. Rachael Crucis dug out 19 attacks, while both Madison Gates and Nicole Jones recorded double-doubles.

Purdue Fort Wayne fell to Toledo 3-0 in a midweek game in Fort Wayne. Rachael Crucis recorded her 1,000th career dig against the Rockets, finishing with 16 on the night.
