'Dons Wrap Up Cardinal Classic on Tuesday

YORKTOWN, Ind. - The Purdue Fort Wayne women's golf team wrapped up its appearance at the Cardinal Classic on Tuesday (Sept. 21), finishing the tournament in seventh. The Mastodons' team score of 930 is the third-best 54-hole score in program history.
Laura Caetano fired a 78 in her last round, which featured 12 pars. She tied with fellow Mastodon Taylor Norman in 27th with a two-day total of 232. Norman shot a 232 with an 81 on her final day. She had a birdie on the 325-yard 17th hole, then finished with a par.
Emma Schroeder finished her week with a 77-79-77-233. She placed 32nd after finishing her day with a pair of birdies on 17 and 18. The Fort Wayne native also dropped a birdie on the 325-yard par-4 eighth. Anna Olafsdottir shot 85 on Tuesday for a two-day total of 236. She birdied the 499-yard par-5 15th hole to place 43rd. Kennedy Brooker rounded out the Mastodons' lineup, shooting 76-80-85-241 to finish in 57th. She had eight pars.
As a team, the Mastodons beat a pair of Horizon League teams: Oakland and Northern Kentucky.
Purdue Fort Wayne will be back on the course in five days at the Golden Grizzlies Invitational in Rochester, Michigan.
