FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Purdue Fort Wayne women's soccer team is set to travel to Moon Township, Pa for a Horizon League match against Robert Morris on Thursday, Sept. 23 (2 p.m.).

Scouting The Mastodons
The Mastodons started Horizon League play last week with a 1-1 record. They defeated UIC 2-0 on Thursday, Sept. 16 for their Horizon League home opener and fell to IUPUI by a score of 1-0 on Sunday, Sept. 19 in Indianapolis, Ind.
As a team, the 'Dons are tied for fourth in the Horizon League in shots (112), tied for fourth in goals allowed (13) and fifth in saves (57). Individually on offense, Kelsey Gallagher is fourth in the Horizon League in assists (three). Mackenzie Evans, Morgan Reitano, and Megan Sinnott lead the 'Dons in goals with two. In goal, Samantha Castaneda is first in the conference in goalie minutes played (880:52), tied for first in shutouts (three), second in saves (52) and third in saves per game (5.78). Castaneda is also tied for 28th in the country in shutouts and ranks in the top third of the country in save percentage (.800).

Robert Morris enters Thursday's game with a 4-5-1 record overall and a 0-1-1 record in Horizon League play. The Colonials opened conference play with a 1-1 tie against Green Bay on Thursday, Sept. 16 and lost to Milwaukee by a score of 2-0 on Sunday, Sept. 19 in Moon Township. They are tied for seventh in the conference standings with one point.
As a team, the Colonials are second in the Horizon League in shots (142) shots per game (14.20), goals (14) and assists (12). Individually, Haleigh Finale has been one of the best players in the Horizon League this season. She is first in the conference in shots (36), shots per game (3.60), and shots on goal (18), second in shots on goal per game (1.80) and assists (six), third in points (12), and tied for seventh in goals (three). The Colonials have switched between Courtney Worstell and Isabella Bohlen in goal. Worstell has appeared in six games, started in five. She's racked up 24 saves and owns a 1-4 record. The Mastodons lead the series over the Colonials with a 2-1-1 record. The 'Dons won the first two meetings back in 2015 by a score of 3-2 and in 2017 by a score of 4-2. The last time these two teams met was on March. 3, 2021 in Canonsburg, Pa. where the Colonials defeated the 'Dons 4-2.
