
Reitano Sisters Lead 'Dons to 3-2 OT Win at Robert Morris

With the win, Purdue Fort Wayne's record improves to 3-3-4 overall and 2-1 in Horizon League play. The two wins are good for six conference points. The Colonials' record drops to 4-6-1 overall and 0-2-1 in Horizon League play. The Mastodons are 3-0 when either Reitano sister scores a goal.
In her first start of her Mastodon career, Bella made her presence felt and opened the game with her first career goal as a Mastodon in the games 16th minute with an assist from Kelsey Gallagher. Reitano headed the ball into the center of the net off a Gallagher corner kick. Gallagher and Reitano connected on a second goal in the 50th minute of the second half. The goal would come off another Gallagher corner and Reitano would again head the ball just under the crossbar. The assists would be Gallagher's team leading fourth and fifth assists of the season.
The Colonials would not go down without a fight and would tie the game with goals in the 83rd and 88th minutes. In overtime, the Reitano sister's would connect on the game winning goal in the 94th minute. Morgan was credited with the goal and Bella was credited with the assist. The goal was Morgan's team leading third of the season. The Robert Morris goalkeeper attempted to clear the ball but Bella was able to get in front of the pass. She quickly gave it to Morgan who put the ball in the back of the net.
In the match, the Colonials had a 21-14 shots advantage while both teams had 10 shots on goal. Morgan led the 'Dons in shots with five, two of her five shots were on goal. In goal was Samantha Castaneda. She had eight saves and allowed two goals.
The Mastodons will be back in action on Sunday, Sept. 26 (noon) for a Horizon League match against Oakland at the Hefner Soccer Complex. The Golden Grizzles will take on UIC on Thursday, Sept. 23 in Rochester, Mich. before traveling to Fort Wayne.
