Anna Olafsdottir Records First Top-10 Finish at A-Ga-Ming

KEWADIN, Mich. - Anna Olafsdottir of the Purdue Fort Wayne women's golf team recorded her first top-10 finish on Monday (Sept. 6), when the Mastodons competed in the A-Ga-Ming Kickoff.
The sophomore from Iceland finished Labor Day weekend with a 75-79-79-233 to place ninth in the field. Olafsdottir's 233 tied her career-best 54-hole tournament. Emma Schroeder was three strokes back of Olafsdottir, carding a 74-83-79-236 for 12th place.
Kennedy Brooker and Casey Bunner tied after three rounds of play, taking 14th with a pair of 238's. Bunner had a final round of 79, while Brooker turned in an 81. Laura Caetano rounded out those competing for the team score with an 81 of her own. She finished with a 239 for 16th place.
Taylor Norman competed as an individual, recording a 79-81-81-241 in her first action as a Mastodon.
Host Central Michigan won the event with a team score of 914. Oakland's Veronia Haque was the individual medalist with a 219.
The Mastodons are back in action on Monday, September 20 at the Cardinal Classic in Yorktown, Indiana, hosted by Ball State.
