
Mastodons’ Erik Josson Picks up Weekly Horizon League Honor

INDIANAPOLIS – Sophomore Erik Josson of the Purdue Fort Wayne men's soccer team has been named the Horizon League Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday (Sept. 7).
The Mastodons picked up a pair of non-league shutout victories last week. The 'Dons defeated Eastern Illinois 1-0 and Western Illinois 2-0. Josson recorded four saves against the Panthers and six saves against the Leathernecks.
This is the second career Horizon League Defensive Player of the Week honor for the Bloomfield Hills, Michigan native. He earned it once last season. He now has four shutouts in his 13-match Mastodon career.
Josson is part of a stout Mastodon defense which has given up only two goals in 366 minutes of play.
The 'Dons (2-2-0) open league play on Saturday (Sept. 11) at Oakland. It will be a 1 p.m. kick against the Golden Grizzlies.
