Gooch Awarded MIVA Defensive Player of the Week Honors

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association announced Purdue Fort Wayne libero Troy Gooch was awarded Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced on Tuesday, Jan 11.
Gooch led the Mastodons in digs with 11 (1.83 digs per set) en route to a 1-1 weekend with a win over King on Friday, Jan. 7 in Bristol, Tenn. In Friday's win, Gooch racked up seven digs, which resulted in the 'Dons hitting .403 on offense.
This is Gooch's second time receiving this honor. He was awarded Defensive Player of the Week was back on Feb. 16, 2021.
The 'Dons play their home opener on Friday, Jan. 14 (7 p.m.) against Maryville on the Arnie Ball Court at the Gates Sports Center.
