Jarred Godfrey Scores 14 Points in Loss at Wright State

DAYTON, Ohio – Purdue Fort Wayne men's basketball dropped a Horizon League contest at Wright State on Sunday afternoon (Jan. 30) at the Nutter Center 75-63.
The 'Dons held the Raiders scoreless for more than four minutes to go on an 11-0 run in the first half. It made it a 29-26 Wright State lead with 4:19 remaining. The 'Dons went to the break down six 36-30. The opening 20 minutes featured only three combined fouls. The quick pace saw the 'Dons take 33 shots in the opening half, tied for the second most for the 'Dons against a Division I opponent this season in a first half.
Bobby Planutis opened the second half with the first five points for the 'Dons. But a 14-2 Wright State run forced a Mastodon a timeout and kept the momentum on the Raiders' side.
The 'Dons were led offensively by Jarred Godfrey with 14 points. He also added a season-high eight rebounds. Damian Chong Qui totaled 12 points.
Tanner Holden led the Raiders with a game-high 23 points. He helped the Raiders shoot 48.0 percent (31-of-64) as a team. The 'Dons shot 41.0 percent (25-of-61).
Wright State improves to 12-10 (9-4 Horizon). The 'Dons are now 11-10 (6-6 Horizon). Purdue Fort Wayne welcomes Milwaukee to the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum on Friday (Feb. 4) in a 7 p.m. tip.
