Mastodons Suffer First League Loss in 1-0 Shutout at YSU

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Purdue Fort Wayne saw their eight-match unbeaten streak come to an end on Thursday (Oct. 13) evening in a 1-0 loss at Youngstown State. It is also the Mastodons' first Horizon League loss of the season.
The 'Dons finished the contest with a 15-14 advantage in shots. This includes a 12-4 edge in the second half as the 'Dons were looking for the equalizer.
Youngstown State scored the game's only goal in the 28th minute. Abriana Rondin scored the goal, assisted by Taylor Berry. Rondin snuck her shot inside the right post.
Morgan Reitano finished with a team-high four shots. She played all 90 minutes.
Samantha Castaneda made four saves.
Youngstown State improves to 5-6-3 (3-2-2 Horizon). The 'Dons fall to 7-3-5 (3-1-3 Horizon).
The 'Dons host Green Bay on Sunday (Oct. 16) for Senior Day.
