League Match Goes to Oakland

ROCHESTER, Mich. – Purdue Fort Wayne lost a Horizon League women's volleyball match at Oakland on Saturday (Oct. 15) afternoon 3-0 (25-17, 25-21, 25-14) to finish the road weekend swing 1-1 after a win at Cleveland State on Friday night.
Oakland out-hit the Mastodons .275 to .128 and held a 8-3 advantage in aces.
Molly Mirabelli led the 'Dons with nine kills, hitting .444 (9-1-18). Her sister Emma Mirabelli added six kills. Rachael Crucis averaged five digs a set with 15 total digs.
Oakland used a 10-0 run to go up 13-5 in the first set. The second set was a one-point frame up until 21-20, but a 4-1 Golden Grizzlies run ended the Mastodon hopes.
Patti Cesarini led Oakland with a match-high 12 kills.
Oakland moves over .500 in league play to 9-12 (5-4 Horizon). The 'Dons fall to 6-14 (2-7 Horizon).
