Madelyn Wurster Makes Return at Green Bay

GREEN BAY, Wis. - Madelyn Wurster made her return to the floor for the Purdue Fort Wayne women's volleyball team in the Mastodons' 3-0 (25-12, 25-17, 25-21) loss at Green Bay on Tuesday (Oct. 18).
Iris Riegel led the Mastodons with eight kills. Ramei Jackson and Molly Mirabelli had seven each. Wurster had three kills in her season debut. LonDynn Betts had 16 digs to lead the match.
Green Bay went up 24-11 after an 11-1 run. The second set was more of the same with the Phoenix jumping out to an 8-2 lead.
The Mastodons responded in the third set, using a 10-2 run that included an ace from Nicole Jones to go up 14-9. The home team took over from that point on and tied it up at 20. The Phoenix took seven of the last eight points to take the match.
Purdue Fort Wayne falls to 6-15, 2-8 Horizon League. Green Bay improves to 17-7, 8-2 Horizon. The Mastodons are back in action on Saturday (Oct. 22) at home against IUPUI.
