Purdue Fort Wayne MG in the Hunt at Tom Tontimonia Invitational

WESTLAKE, Ohio - Through 36 holes on Monday (Oct. 3), the Purdue Fort Wayne men's golf team is just 12 shots off the lead at the Tom Tontimonia Invitational.
The Mastodons led the field after 18 holes, shooting an 8-over 292. After the afternoon round, the 'Dons slipped back to eighth with a 298. The Mastodons are ahead of Horizon League foes IUPUI, Youngstown State and Cleveland State.
Hunter Mefford had an even first 18, including a 1-under front nine. After starting on hole seven, he birdied nine, 10, 11 and 15. He finished the round with six-straight pars. His second round featured seven-straight pars on the back nine. He ultimately turned in a 71-74-145 to occupy 10th place.
Kasey Lilly shot 74-73-147. His first round saw him turn in three birdies in his first five holes. He had another on 15. In his second round, Lilly was 1-under on the back nine thanks to eight pars and another birdie on 15. Lilly is in 23rd.
Jadden Ousley also turned in an even first round with 14 pars and two birdies. The birdies came on nine and 16. In his second 18, Ousley got birdies on two, 13 and 17. He is in 31st place after his 71-77-148.
Nick Holder started his day in impressive fashion, birdieing his first three holes. He had seven pars on the back before birdieing hole four. In his second round, Holder had 13 pars, setting up for his 76-76-152.
Burke Pitz shot 79-75-154 to sit in 57th place. He had 10 pars in the morning round and seven more in the afternoon. He birdied holes one, 12 and 15 in his second time through the course.
Reece Compton competed as an individual, turning in 78-73-151.
The final round of the Tom Tontimonia Invitational will tee off on Tuesday morning (Oct. 4).
