TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Purdue Fort Wayne's Andrew Whitinger took 64^th in a field of 196 on Friday (Nov. 11) at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional for the Purdue Fort Wayne men's cross country team.

Whitinger ran a time of 31:28.6 for a new 10K school record. His 64^th place performance is the best ever individual finish by a Mastodon at regionals. He is the first Mastodon to run a sub 32 minute 10K in program history.

He led a Mastodon team that took 19^th overall with 530 points. Purdue Fort Wayne's average time of 32:17 is also a school record for a 10K meet.

Jarred Neff was next best for the 'Dons (32:14.3), taking 102^nd with a PR.

Nathan Mills (32:25.5) was 112^th, for a new PR. Nicholas Mills ran a time of 32:35.2 for 123^rd. Freshman Austin Hall set the freshman school record for a 10K with a time of 32:44.9 for 129^th. JT Hodges earned 133^rd (32:53.9). Harrison Niswander rounded out the Mastodons on the day with a time of 33:37.0 for 155^th.

Wisconsin won the team title.
