Purdue Fort Wayne Drops Horizon League Game to Robert Morris

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The Purdue Fort Wayne women's basketball team fell to the Robert Morris Colonials 60-48 in the Gates Sports Center on Friday (Feb. 11).
Three Mastodons scored in double-digits: Audrey Stupp (11), Sylare Starks (10), Ryin Ott (10).
Purdue Fort Wayne held close for the entire night until the fourth quarter. The 'Dons were within single digits until four minutes remaining. Midway through the third quarter, the Mastodons cut the lead to just two with a 7-0 run. This started with Audra Emmerson knocking in two free throws. Starks buried a triple off an assist from Amellia Bromenschenkel, then Bromenschenkel stole the in-bounds pass and scored an easy layup.
A late fourth quarter spurt gave Robert Morris a comfortable lead heading into crunch time.
Purdue Fort Wayne scored 18 points off Robert Morris' 23 turnovers. The 'Dons held RMU to 4-of-15 (26.7 percent) from 3-point range.
The Mastodons fall to 8-16, 6-10 Horizon League, while Robert Morris improves to 10-12, 8-9. Purdue Fort Wayne is back in action on Sunday (Feb. 13) at 2 p.m. in the Gates Sports Center.
